VMware hybrid Cloud Computing Services

Understanding VMware standing in the market and cloud computing much here to stay whether it’s private or public cloud and most likely a combination of private and public cloud making it hybrid Clouds.

The main aim to expand from private cloud to a public cloud which meets the increasing demand in computing. Vmware has been a platform that covers all aspects from applications, softwares and outsourcing of services.

Vmware plans to look into Global Connect which will build a global network of service providers and help customers to find a cloud services offered.

With VMware, you can have different infrastructure and configurations with any level of services you would like. Vmware vApp enables IT department to build multiple components of multi-tier applications of more than one virtual machines.

Combination of multiple virtualization platform is now a aim of VMware. For e.g., you host your cloud on a VMware platform, but one of your other cloud is on Virtuozzo platform, you can hybrid both which is likely to release soon.

DR as a service ( DRaS ) Cloud Computing

With many failures seen, D.R. or disaster recovery for any applications or softwares is important. This is mainly in line with the business operations of a organization. DR as a service manages applications, deployment of services to run mission-crticial activities. These are mainly served for small and medium industries who do not wish to spend on hardware and related other additional costs. DR as a service can easily be managed remotely cutting down more than 60% of the cost compared to a physical infrastructure setup.

A service provider charges monthly fee to their customers and sets up their Disaster recovery. Today, many financial institutions prefer investing in DR as a Service. With advanced computing technologies, instant failure recovery and replication enables high-availability for all the applications and softwares that organization would like to run.

DR as a Service are easily scalable without interrupting the infrastructure setup and do not use much space compared to physical deployment in a Data Center. Customization is yet another feature of DR as a Service which allows you to make changes without any issues.

Backup as a service ( BaaS ) Cloud Computing

Backup as a Service or Storage as a Service has gained popularity recently. Many organizations would like to store their data in a secured way on the internet and thus BaaS or Storage as a Services plays an important role. There are many ways a backup or a storage can be secured and uploaded on a cloud computing platform. Creating a backup of the data is vital and keeping it without investing in hardware is only possible on a cloud computing architecture.

Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) Cloud Computing

Infrastructure as a service or IaaS relatest to centralized development of management interface. This is a widely used term with many organizations today to save costs and increase scalability without much investment.

In a development, the organization outsource their services and deploy operations on IaaS, this mainly includes storage, hardware, servers and networking components. Although, in case of IaaS, the hardware is owned by the service provider hosted or colocated in their Data Center and in most cases, it’s pay per use or as per solution.

Some of the benefits of IaaS are :

- No investment of Hardware
- Unified computing services
- Scalable
- Desktop virtualized feature
- High-Availability

Platform as a service (PaaS) Cloud Computing

Development of platforms have been a great success with Cloud Computing to run multiple applications over the internet. Platform as a service ( PaaS ) delivers an infrastructure to run applications which includes hardware, OS, Storage and network capacity to run the applications. It is the next development to SaaS or Software as a Service.

PaaS is much delivery form of a unified cloud computing platform. It offers application deployment and reduces the overall cost of purchasing hardware and softwares to host or run applications. In addition to provide all facilities to support business building solutions.

It may include application designing, application development, testing and deployment. Also, to add collaboration, web service integration and marshalling, database integration, security, scalability and much more.

Software as a service (SaaS) Cloud Computing

Software as a service mostly known as SaaS is refered as on-demand end-user software applications. These refer to multiple software or software distribution model in which applications hosted by service provider are delivered to customers over a network.

A centralized system of architecture indicates more towards Software as a service which support web services and related. However, we do see the SaaS is closely in relation with ASP. In case of SaaS, we see two architectural developments, one is hosted AM model or Application management model and Software-on-demand architecture that allows customers network access to a single application specifically required to run their businesses.

Here are some of the benefits of SaaS :

- Administrations are now easier with Unified Computing of SaaS
- Auto-updation and Patch Management
- Compatibilities are no longer an issue
- Software Collaboration are easier
- Accessed globally over the internet
